Mission
Neta DAO is a nonprofit organization serving the Cosmos ecosystem and the Interchain at large. Our mission is crypto civics: the idea that participation in blockchain governance is a form of public life, and that it deserves the same seriousness and institutional support as civic participation in any democracy.
We pursue this through three interlocking programs: validator services that support the security of Interchain networks; governance participation through our on-chain DAO; and education through Neta DAO Academy.
We are not a protocol, a fund, or a product. We are an institution — one that happens to run on-chain.
Origin
The $NETA token was not created by this DAO. It was airdropped by the Juno Core-1 team to wallets that participated in the very first proposals of the Juno Network — a deliberate recognition of civic engagement, not economic activity.
Those early participants had done something unusual: they showed up to vote before it was profitable to do so. Neta DAO formed around these holders and their shared history.
Our governance is defined by the Neta DAO Constitution, ratified on-chain through a governance proposal. The Constitution establishes the structure of the DAO: a main governance token DAO, a Treasury subDAO, an Operations subDAO, and an Executor subDAO.
Weekly Congressional meetings are open to all members — the primary forum for DAO business. These are the legislative sessions of a living institution.
